Peregrine Falcon vs Raven

You don’t need to travel to the Serengeti to witness magic. I’m John Abraham, a wildlife photographer based in Melton Mowbray, and my passion lies in capturing the extraordinary moments happening quietly all around us. While many people dream of photographing lions on the plains or elephants at sunset, I’ve always believed that some of the most breathtaking encounters happen right here at home in our gardens, our hedgerows, and the small pockets of woodland we walk past every day without a second thought.

My work focuses on celebrating the wildlife we often overlook: the skittish garden birds that flit between feeders, the foxes that emerge at dusk to patrol the edges of the fields, the badgers that shuffle through the undergrowth, and the insects that keep our ecosystems alive. These animals may be familiar, but when you pause long enough to really see them, they reveal a world full of character, drama, and quiet beauty.

Black Headed Gull

I spend countless early mornings and late evenings waiting, watching, and listening — learning the rhythms of the creatures that share our landscape. Every photograph is a moment of connection, a reminder that we’re surrounded by life that is wild, resilient, and astonishingly diverse. My goal is to help others appreciate the magic that exists right on our doorstep, to show that you don’t need a plane ticket to witness something extraordinary. Sometimes, all it takes is patience, curiosity, and a willingness to look a little closer. Join me in celebrating the wild moments happening all around us — the ones that make our everyday world feel just a little more enchanted.
